Polyco PRO NPC is a non-profit company focused on making waste a valuable resource that works for our economy. We aim to grow the collection and recycling of plastic packaging in South Africa, to promote the responsible use and reuse of this plastic packaging and to end plastic waste in the environment.
Our Work
Polyco is focused on three key strategic pillars – we invest in recycling innovation for new end use market development, recycling infrastructure for capacity building and efficiency and recycling education and awareness in South Africa and we collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve success in these areas.

Concurrence from the Minister on EPR Fees
We are pleased to let you know that we have received the letter, Concurrence On The 2022 Proposed Extended Producer Responsibility Scheme Fees, from the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, where it is noted that Polyco’s EPR fees have been approved and that the effective date for implementation is 1 January 2022.
Polyco Standardises EPR Scheme Fee Pay Points
Polyco is standardising our pay points under our Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme fees in order to reduce the complexity and ensure efficiency within the value chain. This will serve to avoid any double dipping or any non-payment of the EPR fee as well as to ensure that the correct tonnages are reported. Packaging referred to includes primary, secondary and tertiary packaging as identified in the regulations and sold into the South African market.
